OK, we get it, there are many other more relaxing and enjoyable ways to pass your time than writing policy documents.
But whether we like them or loathe them, policies are a critical and important tool which can deliver a wide range of benefits.
Putting aside your legal duty to have these in place, they make really, really good business sense. Policies focus the mind, and allow collaboration and brainstorming from all parties in the chain, including managers administrators and actual data processors.
Most organisations live in a hectic and fast-paced environment with change taking place frequently and rapidly. The simple process of writing a policy is a tremendously powerful mechanism because it forces the organisation to consider, in detail, each element of a process and assess if the process is fit-for-purpose. Often anomalies are raised and solutions identified.
If you do not have the skills or knowledge in-house to write the policies, let us take away the strain

Clear policies and guidance instruct staff about an organisation’s procedures, but as importantly, demonstrates to clients the importance you place on the Protection of their data. In the event of a data breach, clear policies will also be one part of the mitigation and defense against any legal action.
