Course Overview

This certified course will refresh the existing understanding and knowledge of individuals in data protection.
This online e-learning course will remind Learners about the basic tenants and principles of data protection, remind them what do in the event of a data breach, how to respects the rights of individuals and bring them up-to-date on any legislative changes.
The course is delivered online through prerecorded animated video and should take around 1 hour to complete .

• Refresh of the basics of data protection and the need for protection
• Reminder about the importance of recognising the difference between standard category and special category (sensitive) personal data.
• Explain any changes to data protection laws in the previous year. Laws around collecting, controlling, and processing personal and sensitive data
• Clarify the obligations on Controllers to comply with the Accountability Principle.
• Reinforce the Data protection by design and by default principle including performing due diligence on suppliers and putting in place appropriate contracts and documentation.
