Level 2: Data Protection Course for Marketers

13th December 2023 Perfect for organisations looking to empower their team with data protection and privacy legislation knowledge that will help them avoid the legal obstacles of modern marketing

Who is This Course For?

This course is ideal for all staff within your organisation who are responsible for (or are involved in) unsolicited marketing communications. This includes social media, email, telemarketing and postal marketing. We recommend that before attending this course, learners should already have a good knowledge of GDPR or have attended our Level 2 Foundation Course in Data Protection.

Why This Course is Important

Collecting, storing, and processing people’s personal and sensitive information with the aim of marketing to them has become big business in recent years. In fact, many consider personal data the world’s most valuable resource, even above oil.

As a result, personal data has become subject to theft and abuse and according to the Chartered Institute of Marketing, 57% of consumers don’t trust companies to use their data responsibly.

The responsibilities you have over the personal data you collect and how you market to consumers can be extremely complex. Mismanagement and abuse can result (and have resulted) in huge fines and being enforced on companies and organisations.

This Course explores the essential elements of the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 in the context of marketing. More importantly, it explores the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Also referred to as PECR and linked to the EU ePrivacy Directive. Our experienced, enthusiastic and knowledgeable trainers ensure this training is both interesting and easy to learn.
